INORGANIC MACROMOLECULES: SILICON – OXYGEN – TITANIUM SYSTEMS

It has been demonstrated that triphenylsilanol will break a Ti-C-Ti bond. This indicates the greater strength of the Ti-C-Si bond, since tetrakistriphonylsiloxytitanium is the only product of such reactions.nThe infrared spectra of four related compounds have been recorded, and almost complete assignments made for each case. These spectra are here reported for the first time.
