A DESIGN OF ELECTRICAL CONTROL HEATERS FOR OPERATION WITH A SUPERSONIC, BLOW-DOWN WIND TUNNEL

This paper is concerned with the desire and construction of an electric control heater used to maintain a constant stagnation air temperature. It is heater is a component of the 6" x 6" supersonic wind tunnel constructed by the Aeromechanics Division of Defense Research laboratory. The University of Texas the wind tunnel laving for its primary purpose a study of the heat transfer characteristics at supersonic speeds.
