Fundamentals of Junction Transistor Switching Circuits

The intent of this report was to review the work that has been done in characterizing the transistor in switching applications and in analyzing various switching and pulse circuits. The number of parameters necessary to describe the transistor is small, and a simple equivalent circuit is adequate to describe the all important active region performance.nNo mention has, as yet, been made of the degree of correlate on between predicted and observed results. From the simplest to the more complicated circuits, the difference between these values is of the order of 20-30 per cent or less. This type of result for the various circuits indicates that the assumptions made are valid, and that such analysis techniques can be used to advantage.
