The objective of this study was to investigate Jet formation, jet structure and the initial stages of target penetration by lined cavity charges as regards impulsive loading. The jet formation and structure studies were carried out to provide some needed information for interpeting ultra-high speed photographs of the penetration of targets by multi-particle projectiles.
