Effect of a Half-Plane Sheet upon the Radiation Pattern of a Dolph-Tchebys-Cheff Array

The radiation pattern of a Dolph-Tchebyscheff array placed near the edge of a conducting half-plane sheet has been calculated. Various locations and orientations of the array are treated. The distortion of the original pattern is very severe in all cases considered. In general the main beam, which is directed toward the edge of the half-plane sheet, is either partially reflected or split into several lobes.
