Conditions Affecting Cooperation Section Ⅰ:Factors Related to the Initiation of Cooperation Section Ⅱ:Trust and Cooperation

The purpose of this report is to present; in final summary the theoretical thinking and the research studies which we have done on conditions affecting cooperation under Contract NONR - 285(10).nOur work proceeded in two phases. In the first phase a series of studies was conducted under the general framework of a theoretical outline concerning the factors which influence the initiation of cooperation. The outline and the relevant studies will be presented below in Section I. In the second phase, the focus of our theorizing and research centered upon some of the unique social psychological factors involved in the initiation of cooperation - namely, the factors related to the development of mutual trust.
