This gain control system consists mainly of the following items:n1. Derivation of an automatic gain control (AGC) voltage using standard techniques.n2. The application of this AGC voltage to a buffer amplifier in the local oscillator channel to give a variation of the instantaneous oscillator injection voltage applied to the converters.n3. The application of the variable oscillator injection voltage to the proper grid of the converters to control the conversion gain of the converters and hence control the gain of the receiver in which the converters are utilized.
