This report to the Office of Naval Research will be con¬fined to a summary of the work done under the above contract during the period of six years and five months, beginning at the activation date of April 1, 1951 and ending at the termina¬tion date of August 31, 1957. Work on this general project is being continued;it is now supported by a grant of the National Institutes of Health (E-1935, on “Comparative Biochem¬istry of Bacterial Growth Phases”).
