A BASIC LESSON FLAN FOR THE TEACHING OF MAP READING IN THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE (GROUND)

It was observed that at all levels of Reserve training activity, there was inadequate evaluation: there were few classroom examinations} and the value of utilizing precious drill hours for certain training activ¬ities was not seriously questioned. Within this context, the goal of the research was established as: first, to evaluate training methods in selected Reserve training subjects and to present any recommenda¬tions which might arise from such evaluations;and second, to estab¬lish models which the Reserve could utilize as the basis for developing systems of self-evaluation.nThe purpose of this report is to present the Basic Lesson Plan which was constructed for teaching Military Symbols, Grid coordinates and Elevation and Visibility
