Technical Research Note 71 VALIDATION OF THE ARMY PERSONALITY INVENTORY AGAINST A MILITARY ADJUSTMENT CRITERION

The criterion employed in the key development was based upon an improved discharge classification. The new keys, as well as previously developed keys, were cross-validated in a second sample of approximately 1500 enlisted men. General findings of the study were as follows:n1.tThe reclassification of criterion elements had little apparent effect upon validity estimates of the new or old keys. The new valid key was essentially as valid as one of the two previous key but less valid than the other in predicting the new criterion.n2.tThe addition of suppressor key to valid keys improved validity of the valid keys.
