The basic concepts investigated in this paper for the deceleration of projectiles by electromagnetic fields are not new concepts by any means. Rather, the principle of operation is a relatively now applica¬tion of the basic theories regarding motor action that have been uti¬lized for many years. It is a physical fact that a conductor which is carrying current experiences a force upon itself when placed in a region of magnetic field.
