STUDY OF TECHNIQUE FOR REFINEMENT OF CAST STRUCTURES IN ALUMINUM

摘要

The overall research program described herein has been designed to determine specifically why castings of aluminum-copper alloy usually possess lower strength and ductility than corresponding wrought material. Once the causes of this phemonenon are accurately isolated, the inform-ation will prove valuable in designing means for the foundryman to im¬prove his cast product and thus widen the application of aluminum castings in engineering.
