THE EFFECT OF MICROSTRUCTURAL VARIABLES AND INTERSTITIAL ELEMENTS OF THE FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF TITANIUM AND COMMERCIAL TITANIUM ALLOYS

The effect of microstructure on the fatigue behavior of the commercial alloys Ti-5Al-22.5Sn, Ti-6Al-4v, and Ti-3Mn Complex has been investigated. Microstructure was found to have little effect on the endurance limit of these allots unless the structure was extremely coarsened or embrittled.
