A SECOND ORDER ACTIVE FILTER

The purpose of this study is to design a second order filter whose natural frequency can be varied without changing the damping ratio. The filter will be used to eliminate noise in a system in which the frequency components of the recorded output are calculated to within one per cent by means of a Fourier analysis.n Included in the analysis of the system are the effects of the phase shift and transient response of the filter on the Fourier analysis of the output. Compensating equations are frequency gain, natural frequency, and damping ratio.
