A Calibrated Shake Table Featuring Linear Air Spring Suspension

In an electromechanical transducer designed especially for calibration of geophones wide frequency response is made possible by the use of feedback within the driver amplifier and over-all feedback from a sampling coil mounted on the moving platform. An adjustable “air spring” accommodates static loads up to 30 pounds. Integration of the shaker with a complete automatic calibration system is described.
