Oil seals submitted by Johns Manville were submitted in accordance with the list of specified sizes, grades, and classes. Some seals were submitted without pressure elements but no appreciable amount of difference in oper?ational characteristics was noted in the operation of seals with or without pressure elements.nThe torques of all seals submitted were within the allowable limits but in most cases leakage was in excess of the allowable limits. The Grade A, Class 2, Style H1/L7 seals were the only seals to pass all phases of test successfully.
