INVESTIGATION OF EFFECTS OF RADIATION APPLICABLE AS GAMMA RADIATION DASIMETERS

This project was initiated to survey the field of radiation effects to determine which effects mights be useful for high-level gamma dosimetry. Accordingly, the approach has been to survey the literature in broad areas and then to initiate experimental studies in those cases where additional information was required for evaluation of certain systems. It was not possible, however, to carry out experimental programs with all promising systems.nThe areas investigated fall into four general categories: organic systems, inorganic oxidation-reduction reactions, semiconductor materials and devices, and ceramics.
