Propagation Characteristic of Detonation Generated Plasmas

Electrical conduction measurements were made in the highly ionized palmate region produced by detonating high explosives. The plasma was de¬termined to originate directly from reaction of the high explosive rather than from thermal ionization associated with the accompanying shock wave. The mechanist of conduction was considered, and it was shows that, electron flow through the palmate accounted for practically all of the current.
