The Influence of Prior Plastic Strain and Interstitial Content on the Aging Behavior and Mechanical Properties of Alpha-Beta Titanium Alloys
A hardness survey supplemented by selected tensile data, electrical resistivity measurements and microstructural examination were the tools to study the effect of prior plastic strain on the aging behavior of Ti-8Mn & Ti-16V base alloys at various interstitial levels.nPrior plastic strain accelerates the initial rate of aging and of overaging in both sets of alloys.
