These seals were graded and classed by the Test Engineer as Grade A class 1 and 2 and tested accordingly. No visible damage was done to the seals during installation and no visible damage was done to the seals as each phase of the test was conducted. The oil seals passed all phases of the performance tests except the salt spray test and volumetric change test.nDuring the salt spray test the encasing component and pressure element rusted and the changes in volume of the sealing element increased above the allowable limits during the volumetric change test.
