Preliminary experiments, performed by the forced cooling of Composition 3, indicate the following requirements for a production rate of 5,000 pounds of pellets per hour:na. l/2-inch-thick pellets require a belt with a cooling surface 78 feet long by 32 inches wide, traveling at a rate of 7.6 feet per rented.nb. 3/4-inch-thick pellets require a belt 83 feet long by 32 inches wide, traveling five feet per minute.nc. l-lunch-thick pellets require a belt 87 feet long by 32 inches wide, traveling 3.8 feet per minute.nInasmuch as these data are based on the forced cooling of the reclusive in metal trays to determine if a belt of a reasonable length could be used.
