Tow-Dimensional Circulation Cont¬rol Tests on an Naca 23015 Airfoil equipped with a Sealed and Slotted Flap to determine Jet Momentum Loss over the Flap
This report is a supplement to University of Wichita Engi¬neering Report No. 311, which described wind tunnel tests of a blowing-type, two-dimensional airfoil with two flap configurations. The tests were designed to produce force and pressure information contributing to a semi-empirical analysis of the effectiveness of a flap with boundary layer con¬trol. The model was instrumented with static-pressure taps on its surface, and with total and static pressure rakes in the slot and at the flap trailing edge. Portions of Figure 1 of the basic report are reproduced herein to portray the locations of the various pressure taps and rakes.nAn extrapolation procedure was proposed for use in an attempt to render the remaining data useful for analytical work. This procedure, as adopted with modifications suggested by Fairchild personnel, is summarized below.
