摘要

The flame speeds of boron hydrides (B2H6, B5H9) in air are comparable to or higher than those of any other fuel-air mixture on record. Likewise, the lean limits of inflammability are low and lead to calculated flame temperatures (assuming complete conversion to B2O3 and H20) of only several hundred degrees centigrade. It has also been observed that mixtures of hydrocarbons and boron hydrides usually burn in two distinct luminous flame zones.
