1.1 This report describes the results of a study to determine if a satisfactory visual presentation can be obtained with point light source techniques for a low ceiling, poor visibility landing training attachment for a twin-engine instrument trainer.n1.2 The scope and important elements of the problem were determined through interviews with pilots as well as from the requirements of the contract specification.n1.3 A very promising point source projection system has been devised for use as a low ceiling, poor visibility landing training attachment for a twin-engine instrument trainer. The techniques employed to simulate atmospheric conditions which limit visibility (fog, haze, rain and snow) have been proved success¬ful in a mock-up of limited scope. It is recommended that other aspects of the proposed system be evaluated through the experiments described.
