THE 'CLAM SHELL' THERMAL IMAGE DEVICE (THERMAL IMAGER)

A novel thermal imaging device is described. Two identical reflecting paraboloids are mounted face to face so that the focal point of each falls at the vertex of the other. This arrangement allows both the source and image to be external to the optical system. The benefits of the device include: im¬proved images, higher temperatures, and increased power transfer.
