1.1This procedure describes the operation of a secondary standards laboratory calibration system which is used to calibrate mercury-in-glass thermo-meters at the ice-point (0°C).n1.2The thermometer under calibration will be referred to herein as the Test Instrument. A typical Test Instrument would be an ASTM 64C Precision Thermometer (see Figure 2, page 5).n1. 3Read the entire procedure before starting the calibration.n1.4Test Instruments will not be accepted by the calibrating laboratory unless accompanied by a primary standards laboratory certification (see step 2.2.4).
