Development of Suitable Rating Scales for Measuring the Subjective Reactions of Troops using QM Items under Actual Field Test Conditions

A research investigation was carried out by The Psychometric Laboratory of the University of North Carolina under a contract monitored by the Quarter-master Research and Engineering Field Evaluation Agency. The purpose of this investigation was to determine: (1) The minimum number of characteristics necessary for the full investigation of the items studied; (2) The relative importance of these characteristics in the determination of overall acceptability by the soldier user.
