Power Requirement of a Blowing Wing with Sealed and Slotted Trailing Edge Flaps: Model M-246A

wind-tunnel tests on a blowing NACA 23015 airfoil with a 25%chore slotted flap and with blowing-slot widths of 0.9 and 0.15% chord, at flap-deflection angles from 30°to 70°, have been analysed in Ref. 1. These tests were recently supplemented by extending the range of flap-deflection angles to 0°and by investigating the same model with a sealed flap and with an effective blowing-slot width of 0.7% chord, over the whole range of flap-deflection angles from 0°to 70°(Refs. 2 and 3). The new set of experiments is analysed in the present report. The analysis was restricted to states of flow where the flow was fully attached to the flap.
