O-Acylhydroxylamines Ⅱ. Reaction of Dibenzylamine with O-Mesitoylhydroxylamine

The recent syntheses 2.5 of o-acylhydroxylamines have made these compounds readily available for a study of their reactions as analogs of chloramines. The reaction of chloramine with primary, secondary and tertiary amines 4-7 has been used to prepare the prepare the corresponding hydrazine derivatives. It has now been shown that a representative secondary amine, dibenzylamine, undergoes a similar reaction with the o-acylhydroxylamines.
