ON A CLASS OF NON-LINEAR SECOND-ORDER DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

A number of conditions are derived which are either necessary or sufficient for the existence of a non-oscillatory solution of (a).nThe problem is shown to have a solution which satisfies equation (a), and it therefore becomes possible to investigate the behavior of the solutions of (a) by means of variational techniques.
