摘要

A copper single crystal in the form of a hollow cylinder was subjected to an internal explosion in an effort to determine whether or not strain markings are formed in the first very intense compression fronts developed in metals by explosions. Analysis of framing camera pictures and macrostructures indicates that slip and kink bands are not associated with this compression front, but develop later and are indications of the atomic movements in the metal which result in the final specimen shape.
