A Stable Continuously Recording Electrode System for the Determination of Oxygen Dissolved in-Protein Solutions

This report describes a stable system for the determination of oxygen dissolved in protein solutions that permits recordings of the change in oxygen tension in the millimicromolar range over periods of 5-30 minutes or longer. The essential characteristics necessary for the stability of the oxygen electrode involve protecting the electrodes from being poisoned by proteins, the main-tainence of a constant amplitude of the electrode vibration, and the use of a stable amplification system.
