AN X-RAY INVESTIGATION OF THE NICKEL-BORON SYSTEM THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF ORTHORHOMBIC AND MONOCLINIC Ni4B3

摘要

The Ni-B system has been investigated with X-ray powder and single-crystal methods in the range Ni3B-NiB. In addition to the previously known intermediate phases, Ni3B,Ni2B and NiB, the existence of two other phases, both with the ideal compositions Ni4B3, but one orthorhombic and the other monoclinic, has been established.nThe crystal structures of the two new phases have been deter¬mined and refined from single-crystal intensity data.
