Experience in using five prototype aural reading devices indicated the desirability of a number of mechanical and electronic modifications. Changes that were made include:n(1) Improved cable between the hand-held probe and reader chassisn(2) Improved filtering of the a-c power supplyn(3) The use of matched and encapsulated photocell arraysn(4) Detailed modifications to the audio oscillators and amplifiern(5) Improved rollers at the end of the probe.
