摘要

Both the Reward variable and the Prestige variable had opposite effects on Negroes and whites. Negroes responded more favorably to the latter conditions than to the former. The result for Negroes, which contradicted the hypotheses, were attributed to the Negro S’s of inadequacy in the bi-racial situation, which persisted despite his actual and visible intellectual with white Ss.
