A Study of the Chemical Properties of the Complex Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Oxygen and Sulphur Compounds of the Titanium, Vanadium and Chromium Sub-Group Metals

The original objective of this research was to prepare compounds of the titanium, vanadium and chromium sub-groups containing covalent metal-nitrogen, metal-phosphorus and metal-sulphur bonds, and to obtain structural information about such compounds. The field of investigation is a wide one and it seemed sensible to examine first representative reactions of selected transition metal halides with amines, and then to extend the investigation to other halides and to the phosphorus and sulphur analogues of the amines.
