The information provided in reference (b) provided for control over dropout characteristics in an interim tape specification, However, it was indicated that the basis for obtaining the information was an arbitrary one and that further work would have to be done to obtain a better understanding of the dropout problem and to provide information for specification development directly related to the operational requirements of tape instrumentation systems.nIn addition, information for dropout criteria is being duplication of effort, further work will not be conducted this project number, and this letter constitutes the final report of Lad.
