The general objective of ARF Project Do53 is the design and development of a laboratory model for an Arctic personnel heating device. This self-powered device should deliver and distribute a controlled amount of heat to an inactive person, dressed in Arctic ensemble, under Arctic weather conditions.nThe project was divided into three phases. In the first phase a survey and an evaluation were made to establish which of the various proposed personnel heating systems would have the greatest feasibility and practicality.
