摘要

The small open return blower tunnel described here was built for investigating the factors affecting the ability of a wing-flap combination to deflect a slipstream. It produces an 8-inch diameter circular free jet with good flow uniformity at velocities up to 145 ft. /sec. This jet can be considered a simplified model of a fully contracted slipstream without rotation in which wing-flap models can be mounted in order to measure the lift and drag forces and pitching moment developed, using a specially designed strain gauge balance.
