摘要

A study was conducted to determine the relationship between the hot hardness and the required extrusion forces and percent yield of sound material for molybdenum and molybdenum base alloys. Unalloyed molybdenum, molybdenum - Ti, and Mo-Ti-Zr billets were sectioned. examined, weighed and extruded at different temperatures from 1000° to 2900°F. The extrusion force was measured while other controllable variables were held constant. The extruded billet was examined visually, machined. Weighed, and prepared for metallographic analysis. The extrusion dies were also prepared for metallographic examination.
