MAGNETO HYDRODYNAMIC POWER GENERATION USING NUCLEAR FUEL

摘要

This paper starts with a brief review of the basic theory of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power generators. The basic electrical properties of gases are reviewed briefly. Overall performance charac-teristics of MHD generators are presented as a function of these gas properties. This gives an indication of the future potential of MHD as a conversion technique. It is pointed out that MHD shows most promise for applications where high power (one megawatt and up) is desired.
