A method is presented in this report for modifying the effective focal length of an existing telescope. In most cases the physical length of the telescope is not increased very much by the modification; however, the effective focal length may be increased many times its original value. For this modification it is possible to use various available lenses or those easily secured from available stockpiles. A theoretical analysis is presented and basic calculations developed which permit achieving proper matching of the resolution of the telescope and the resolution of the sensor by using one or more additional lens systems between the telescope and the sensor. These principles are further illustrated in two accompanying diagrams.
