Stainless steel tubing is used in modern aircraft to transmit gases and fluids. The sizes employed range from small-diameter, heavy-wall tubing for hydraulic lines to large-diameter, thin-wall tubing for pneumatic ducts. The latter class of tubing is of unusual interest to the aircraft industry.
