The objectives of the Workshop were to discuss current administrative and technical problems, to review numerous proposals for changes in the Manual of Recommended Practice for Sanitary Control of the Shellfish Industry, to review research findings related to the Cooperative Program, and to consider the present advisability of establishing a bacteriological standard for shucked Eastern oysters at the market level.
