摘要

The study compared the driving record of 16, 17, 18, and 19 year old drivers, both with and without controlled exposure. In terms of absolute risk (uncontrolled for mileage) there was no difference among the age groups. When mileage was controlled (relative risk), 16 and 17 year old males had higher rates than 18 and 19 year olds. Behind -the-wheel driver training did not appear to have any effect on subsequent accident frequency. The authors concluded that the findings did not support making behind-the-wheel driver training mandatory or raising the minimum licensing age to 18. (Author)
