User Determined Attributes of Ideal Transportation Systems: An Empirical Study

The objectives of the research are (a) to identify and assess the importance of attributes of an ideal transport system or systems, and (b) to determine the extent to which existing systems approach this ideal. This study was designed to appraise the reasibility of using a measuring approach involving the use of a quasi self-administered questionnaire and to interpret the responses. The answers to five specific questions were sought. They were derived from a ten question general design for the total research effort. The specific questions reflect the interest in the measurement approach as well as the attributes of an ideal urban transportation system.
