摘要

Several systems are being developed for correcting spot welds as they are made. An appraisal of these systems suggests that electrode movement is the best sensing system for operating a correction system. Un¬fortunately, no information is available as to the de¬gree of correction required under different circum¬stances to produce a satisfactory size weld. It was decided to determine the extent of correction required under different situations, and the relation between movement signal and the correction which must be applied so as to provide a fundamental basis for choice and design of correction systems.
