A Test Vehicle for Studying the Skid Resisting Properties of Tyres and Road Surfaces During Controlled Cornering and Braking

The report describes a vehicle which has been built and developed to study the skid-resisting forces developed by a passenger car tire during braking, cornering or combined braking and cornering. The results of preliminary tests show that it is particularly suitable for studying the transient conditions through which a braked or cornering tire passes before skidding takes place.
