Instruction Manual for Satellite On-Board Analog to Digital System (Sobads)

The Satellite Infrared Spectrometer On-Board Analog to Digital System (or SOBADS) is a system which accepts 9 analog signals and encodes these 9 analog signals sequentially in pure binary code and stores the data; then shifts it out sequentially. Each of the 9 channels are sampled and encoded in the first 100 milliseconds after the trailing edge of the nimbus sync pulse and again in the first 100 milliseconds 8 seconds after the nimbus sync trailing edge. The SOBADS receives a clock and a synchronizing signal from the nimbus B telemetry. (Author)
