Assessment of the Hope Anti-Jack Knife Device

The anti-jack knife device attempts to prevent jack-knifing by using a disc brake at the coupling between the tractor and trailer to resist relative movement between them when the vehicle's brakes are applied. During tests the device was found to be capable of preventing jack-knifing when the vehicle was travelling on a straight path, but not always when on a curve. (Author)
